2018 Investment for Good

One of the fastest growing countries of the world, India is a place of many contrasts.

Home to some of the world’s earliest-inhabited cities and most diverse religions & cultures, innovative start-ups from India’s modern metropolises are quickly emerging on a global stage.

At the same time, the richest 1% still own more than half of the country’s wealth. With a population of 1.3 billion, India’ digital start-ups are poised to grow at breakneck pace, yet much of the country still lacks basic electricity at home.

At PIM, we believe that, beyond simple charity, one of the most effective ways to empower impoverished communities is to help them create self-sustaining business models that can promote the common welfare.

Impact investing –  investments intended to generate both social impactand financial return – have the potential to catalyze and scale innovations that improve millions of lives around the world. With a combination of high social needs and strong market forces, India represents an exciting and attractive market for this type of investing.
