The 24th Regional Joint Conference on Social Work in the Asia-Pacific Region (2017) (第24届（2017）亚太地区社会工作区域联合会议) will be held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, on September 26th –29th, jointly organized by the International Social Work Community of the Asia Pacific Region and the Asia Pacific Region Social Work Education Association.
The conference is held every two years in Asia-Pacific countries; it is the largest international conference in the area of social work in the region. This year Mainland China will host the conference for the first time, with more than 300 social workers from more than 20 countries and areas around the world getting together in Shenzhen to share their experiences and methods in international social work.
The main theme of this year’s conference is “challenge and responsibility—innovative social work and sustainable development”, and more than 11 topics will be discussed, including innovative social governance and public service in economic transformation.
The conference will present and exchange the results of social work in the Asia-Pacific Region through various activities like keynote speeches, seminars and academic conferences. It will bring both domestic social workers and international social workers in the Asia-Pacific Region to communicate and learn from each other.
