Under the guidance and supervision of the Administrative Assistant, the driver provides reliable and safe driving services for office staff or external visitors, ensuring highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. The Driver also demonstrates a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of Key Functions:

1. Provision of reliable and secure driving services

Proper use of vehicle
Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle
General support service to office
2. Ensures provision of reliable and safe driving services by

driving office vehicles for the transportation of UNDP staff, other high-ranking officials and visitors and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items
airport pick up and send off
assisting on visa application, settling payments, minor purchasing, banking, pouch and customs services
being punctual all the time
other ad hoc transportation request and be ready to work overtime
able to check address/flight information and use GPS device
copy, printing services as needed
3. Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through

accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs and ensure all related information and data are complete
provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and report
Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through
conducting timely minor repairs
arranging for major repairs
timely changing oil, checking tires, brakes, car washing, etc
timely refueling gasoline
keeping assigned vehicle in clean condition
4. Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including

UN Car flag
vehicle insurance
vehicle logs
office directory
map of the city/country
first aid kit
necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle
5. Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents,  including the following:

ensuring the site of accident is well protected
immediately informing policeman or call traffic emergency telephone
if there is any injury,  immediately call ambulance
providing assistance to policeman for investigation of the accident
assisting the Operations Assistant to complete an accident report to be sent to HQs

Required Skills and Experience

Secondary Education. Valid Driver’s license.


5 years’ work experience as a driver; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in English and Chinese.
