How you can make a difference?


UNICEF China Office has a unique strategy working in partnership with theGovernment of China in the poorest parts of the country to develop results for children. We are now seeking new talent to support and assist with coordinating our partnership working across departments and agencies of the Government of China, and forimproving programme design and delivery. This entails:


  • Being part of shaping and forming partnerships with various Government of China departments and agencies
  • Participating in effective knowledge management to strengthen programmes that help children in China
  • Analysing socio-political and economic trends in China and their implications for UNICEF’s programmes
  • Supporting the monitoring of programme funds and ensuring their optimal use for the benefit of children in China
  • Providingsupport and assistance to improve the quality of programmes
  • Building and reinforcing commitment and capacities of national and local partners


To qualify, you will have…


  • A university degree (preferably at Master’s level) in Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration or other relevant field
  • At least two years of professional working experience in international development or programme/project development at the national or international level
  • Experience working with the UN or other international development organizations is an asset
  • Knowledge of China’s social and economic policy context, Chinese government and non-government functions and policy development mechanisms
  • Experience of working in partnership with the Government of China
  • Experience of research management an advantage
  • Ability to coordinate and organize activities with stakeholders to good quality
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin
